Hi Victoria. I actually have an idea very similar to yours. I'm trying to tackle income disparities within Gainesville through a mentorship program. So I'm also designing a nonprofit. I'm really glad there is someone else in my group going the nonprofit route. I just believe that I was given everything as a kid and I need to give back. Good luck with this assignment!
I think that your idea is well founded and has some potential. This idea is especially interesting because in a college town such as Gainesville, these sorts of problems are championed by the community, meaning that your idea could gain widespread support. One thing I would work on is the directness with which you approach the pitch so that it is clear what your solution to the problem is.
