As I have conducted my interviews, I have noticed one similarity among each and every individual. When it comes to purchasing a service. the value of the service itself is in question. "Is the object worthy of the expense I am paying for it?" is a question I tend to ask myself when making purchases and this same concern is shown by the individuals I interview. Though my potential business I'd like to create is deemed as a non-profit organization, I have concerns regarding the sustenance of such an organization without monetary funds. I have to become more educated in the matter in order to better provide answers to my potential clients in seek of assistance.
Within my interviews, I spoke to Andy, George and Pietro. Each individual had concerns regarding pricing since the organization is deemed as non-profit. I would like there to be little to no expense to solely provide individuals with information regarding potential resources available to them. Each person interviewed had admitted to struggling with financial funds, as they are college peers who do not receive much parental contribution. If this service I were to provide were free of charge, I could surely help them resources that would assist them and improve their quality of life.
Hey Victoria! I would definitely agree that “the value of the service itself is in question.” When I read that I first thought of going to eat at a nice restaurant. If I am going to spend a lot of money on food, I want the whole experience (service, food, atmosphere) to be great and worth the cost. But for your venture, I think it is worth the cost because you are helping disparities but I’d encourage you to look into nonprofit management to see how they are funded. Great post! - Juliana
ReplyDeleteHey Victoria, i think prices are an important part in buyer behavior. Everyone's lives are different, but a lot of people want to do good. Something like a nonprofit organization can fulfill people in many ways, without price points like buying a new purse or a new video game.

Fundraising is always a struggle and non-profit organizations must be creative to find ways to support their missions. I have been part of several non-profits and finding money to sponsor an event, so something special for someone, or even just run the day-to-day operations turns out to be very challenging. However, if you have the will to make something happen I am sure you will find a way to make it a success.
